Green Mountain Energy and Standard Renewable Energy Presents Cash Saving Program to Texas Residents-

Texas-based electric utility, Green Mountain Energy Company, and renewable energy provider, Standard Renewable Energy texas-energy-efficiency-program(SRE), have combined forces to help the people of Collin County, Texas conserve cash – at least on their monthly electric bill. SRE has offered a “State of Texas Solar Panel System Instant Rebate” and lowest price guarantee, expiring in the end of July. Texas residents who purchase solar panels during this initiative will receive a $2 per watt instant rebate on installed solar panel systems from SRE and will also have the peace of mind knowing that they are obtaining the lowest solar array price available on the market. “These offers, coupled with the 30 percent federal tax credit on the cost of the solar panel systems, could put even more money back into Texans’ pockets, while supporting cleaner energy,” said Jordan Fruge, senior vice president for Standard Renewable Energy. To boot, Green Mountain Utility Company is offering a renewable rewards buyback program, offering credit to Texas customers who install solar panels or other renewable energy producing systems in their home who have excess energy to sell back to the electricity grid.

“Since we launched the renewable rewards buy-back program we have seen increased interest from customers who want to install a home solar system and participate in our Buy-Back program… It is clear that many Texans want solar power for their homes,” said Paul Markovich, senior vice president, Green Mountain Energy Company. Markovich went on to say that the program is open to almost everyone in Collin County, adding that Green Mountain is one of merely two companies that will buy back electricity. “We’ve had an existing partnership with Standard Renewable Energy for several years,” Markovich. “They’ve done a number of installations of solar panels for us. According to the plan that we have, if somebody put solar panels on their homes totaling 500 kilowatt hours, they could save between $50-75.” In addition to the many benefits from these two companies, neighborhood homeowners may be eligible for supplementary rebates from Oncor, a regulated electricity distribution and transmission business, which may save the average consumer around 80 percent on a solar panel system. “People should do this program because it is a great thing to do from an environmental stand point also with all the rebates it makes it more economical,” Markovich said. “Green Mountain is a pollution free company. We feel that anybody who is willing to put solar on their roof is our kind of customer. We’ve always been the ‘green guys’. Our company was built on a mission to change how power is made.”
