Solar-Powered Audio Bibles for Haitians-

Faith Comes by Hearing, a U.S.-based group, has joined forces to aid devastated Haitians in an altogether unique way; sending solar-powered audio Bibles. Labeled the “Proclaimer”, the audible Bible provides digital quality sound and can be broadcast in Haitian Creole to around 300 people at a time. With countless Port-au-Princesolar-powered-audio-bibles-to-haiti residents left homeless after the destructive quake last Tuesday, the organization affirms that the audio Bible can bring them “hope and comfort that comes from knowing God has not forgotten them through this tragedy.” Given that many of the country’s inhabitants are illiterate and fairly poor, this audible version of the Holy Bible will help to enrich the lives of many by “providing faith, hope and love through God’s Word in audio.” Video below, courtesy of FCBH, demonstrates the group’s successful efforts to spread the Word through Ghana, Africa.

This is a cool idea, but it would be more practical if it had a cellphone charger attached to it.

Haiti doesn’t lack Bibles; it lacks electricity.

They do lack Bibles. Their Bibles are in the rubble. So they are requesting these. We hope it will help bring them comfort in this very difficult time. Of course, Bibles should never replace the essential supplies needed for life. -Faith Comes by Hearing

… and they are solar powered, so no electricity needed.
