My HMC150 records, with 16g card and extended battery life, more than 12 minutes at a time, more like 100 minutes; way, way more. The 5DmrkII will only do 12 minutes before it stops of its own accord, plus you don't have to deal with a whole other audio rig.

Also, As I remember the HMC150s suggested retail was around 6000 but hit the market around 3400. After you do all the upgrades on your 5d you'll be way over 3400. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to have a 5d rig, as a backup. But I'm thinking I'll wait for this AG100.

Also, I do all my HD editing on a 3 year old iMac with 4gigs of Ram. FCP works fine with AVCHD as long as you download the updates. I completed a feature length doc on this rig, so don't think you need the latest computer power to step into these SDHC cameras.

This camera will definitely be a game changer for the video industry! But, my question is this... what kind of zoom lens will this camera come with? Will it have a motorized zoom!!!? Or, will it be supplied with an existing 4/3 or micro 4/3 zoom lens... AND for the sake of depth of field... none of these lenses are very fast! Yea, I am planning on buying this camera... and I have a set of Nikon lenses all ready to go, but I will be very disappointed if they do not supply a standard video style zoom lens with this camera!

Will the AG-Af100 4/3 Pro HD Camcorder feature any kind of "POWERFUL" optical AF Lens for movie making? Something in the range of 45X, 50X, or 60X "PURE OPTICAL" with no digital drop off or magnification? For Six-G's it should. Does anyone out there know?

$6000.00 seems really steep for an AVCHD camera. The bitrate is only a little more then half a 5dMkII. You can buy a 5D, Lenses, separate audio recorder, a follow focus rig, and mattebox, for less then this thing.

We shoot with the Panasonic AG-HMC150, which also records to solid state SDHC cards. On a 4GB card, shooting full HD in the highest quality mode (PH), you'd get approximately 21 minutes.

This camera sounds awesome.

I can not wait to see footage!

The only question is, Will my editing software and computer be powerful enough?

Here's to hoping!!!
