Motech Industries Solar Cell Demand Exceeds Supply
Motech Suzhou Solar Supply has Surpassed Projected Demand, Will Raise Solar Pricing-
Motech Renewable Energy in Suzhou, the China-established subsidiary of Motech Industries in Kunshan, has announced that its facility is currently operating at full capacity and demand for its solar cell technology has notably topped its on-hand supply. The company plans to counterbalance the unforseen surging demand by raising it’s solar cell prices by around 1 to 2 percent above prevalent market price. Motech’s Suzhou facility currently holds 65MWp of generating capacity, and the company plans to amplify producing capabilities to 130MWp by the end of 2009. Motech Industries obtains silicon from the market and trades its solar cells to module manufacturers throughout China. According to a recently published report, the company received three Kunshan government open bid contract projects totaling 180kWp of solar cell capacity.
