TogetherGreen Fellows & Innovation Grants Offer Funds to Support Environmental Activists-

By means of the TogetherGreen Conservation Fellowships program and the National Audubon Society, 40 individuals will receive $10,000 in cash grants, assistance in developing a conservation action project, and specialized training based on distinct leadership potential, skills and dedication to educating others about conservation action. To boot, chosen candidates will join an inspiring alumni network of conservation professionals throughout the nation. TogetherGreen Fellows program hopefuls must hold at least 6 years experience in environmental activities, a passion for conservation, the drive to learn and grow, as well as the aptitude to reach diverse and formerly underrepresented individuals. Grantee’s will be chosen for inventive strategies that accomplish conservation goals focused on habitat, water and energy; with selected participants to demonstrate how they plan to reach new and diverse communities and help others become involved in local conservation action.

TogetherGreen Innovation Grants, offered to State Programs, Centers, and local Chapters, will provide the necessary tools for Audubon and it’s partners to influence and encourage activities that connect the public with ecological conservation and sustainable living; in turn, creating healthier, more informed communities. Audubon will choose a minimum of 40 proposals, carefully considered by an expert advisory panel, and will extend more than $1 million dollars of support with grants ranging from $5,000-$80,000. At present, roughly 90 environmental projects have received Innovation Grants reaching more than $2.5 million to deliver results focused on habitat, water, and energy on a national level. “The TogetherGreen Fellows and Innovation Grants programs have had remarkable success in building the capacity of conservation professionals and achieving tangible results across the country. We look forward to another selection of great applications that will engage thousands of Americans in local conservation action,” said Frank Gill, National Audubon Society President.
