Water Generator Provides Clean Water from Air-

The Dewpointe® Atmospheric Water Generator is one of the most revolutionary green products of 2009, as the device captures humidity from ambient air, purifies utilizing ten proprietary filters and converts it into fresh, unadulterated H2O. Risk of water shortage and contamination is becoming more probable by the day, especially considering that no one has control over natural disasters that leave areas ravaged such as the Haitian earthquake which struck without warning on January 12th, 2010. Moreover, lack of rain is beginning to take its toll on numerous states throughout the U.S.; with territories like New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, and California facing the reality of serious water scarcity. “Water is blue gold; it’s terribly precious… Not too far in the future, we’re going to see a move to surround and commodify the world’s fresh water. Just as they’ve divvied up the world’s oil, in the coming century, there’s going to be a grab,” said Maude Barlow, chair of the Council of Canadians. Pioneering water generating systems such as the Dewpointe will be able to aid consumers in providing up to 8.4 gallons of clean water daily while using the amount of electricity needed to power a small space heater. Relative humidity and ambient air temperature is a factor in determining the degree at which water can be produced; consequently this system would not work as efficiently when average temperature drops below 65°F, or in regions where relative humidity falls below 30 percent.
