Kyocera Group has begun using viney plants to create “green curtains”, which are formed over trellises to shade portions of windows and outer walls of buildings at 20 different locations in Japan, Thailand and Brazil. Cogentrix Energy, a leading power developer, has announced a deal to build a 30 MW solar power plant near Alamosa, Colorado. The facility will use concentrated photovoltaic systems (CPV) provided by California firm Amonix, and will be the largest of its kind across the globe.
